Let's be friends!

  • Orange Slice

Whether it's advertising or branding that makes us laugh, think, or something we just find clever... you will find it here. Welcome to Fresh Media's Orange Slice.

  • Sheep Art
With the hills of Wales as the backdrop, this amazing video just goes to show that you can make art out of everything. Including sheep!

  • Designer Fire Extinguishers
The French company Fire Design has taken the common fire extinguisher and transformed them into works of art. Great design is taking a product that has been traditionally branded a certain way, and reinventing it into something unique, stylish, and fun. Fire Design has taken an important safety product and completely re-envisioned it into something you would be proud to display within your home.

  • One Too Many Rides
One of the best advertising agencies in Canada is Rethink from Vancouver. As an example of their simple yet brilliant work, they designed a series of posters for Playland Amusement Park. By using iconic elements you would associate with an amusement park-- like stuffed animals and riding one too many rides-- they sold the fun of going to Playland without saying a word.

  • Trademarking The Little Tree
The Little Tree air freshener was invented in 1952 in New York by Julius Sämann, who spent 5 years extracting pine needle oil in the "cold Canadian wilderness"-- as the Little Tree website puts it. Julius came up with the shape, the name, and even the pine scented fragrance. To protect their brand, the Julius Sämann company recently started placing full page ads in magazines. The ads inform readers that not only does Julius Sämann own the trademark for the Little Tree shape, they also have a team of lawyers on standby to take down impostors. So while the Little Tree Car-Freshener is a worldwide icon, it goes to remind us that there are roots-- and lawyers-- behind every brand.

  • Man vs Bear
The mockumentary style voiceover. The fisticuffs by the riverbank. Showcasing just how far a brand will go to get the best salmon. All make for a hilarious commercial that still ranks as one of our favourites.
