MERRY GIFTMAS
Christmas time is when we all feel like a bunch of big kids. This past Christmas, we took that message to heart as we gave local kids 100 reasons to smile!
In lieu of giving out corporate goodies to our clients, we instead offered a "Merry Giftmas" to kids staying at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital. We hand picked and delivered 100 gifts for kids of all ages who needed to stay at the hospital throughout the year.
To hear that one of our gifts made a child at the hospital smile Christmas morning... that was the best gift Fresh Media could have asked for.SPEAKING AT ROTARY
Robbie was invited to speak at the Rotary Atlantic Conference held at Camp Genchef. With the topic of "Defining Your Brand to Grow Your Membership", Robbie spoke about the importance of branding and strategically managing the Rotary's messaging to help the individual branches grow their membership base.

TECHNOLOGY SUMMIT - SOCIAL MEDIA CASE STUDY
Melody had the opportunity to speak with a large group of Island entrepreneurs and business professionals at the PEI Technology Summit. The presentation, Leveraging Social Media for Your Brand, was an in depth profile on how Social Media assisted in the success of PEI Burger Love, along with tips and suggestions on how to use Social Media to your own success.BRANDING YOUR BUSINESS HEADS WEST
June was a busy month for Melody in the western region of our Island, presenting 'Branding your Business' to entrepreneurs in Alberton as well as a sold out group of PEIBWA Business Women in Summerside at a local Lunch & Learn session. Inspiring and connecting with other budding entrepreneurs, as well as seasoned business owners, is a passion for Melody. As you can see, she will travel all over the Island to spread the word about Branding. It helps that we have an orange VW Bug to get her there and back!
2011 PEI BUSINESS HALL OF FAME
Another round of applause for this year's inductees into the PEI Junior Achievement Prince Edward Island Business Hall of Fame.
The inductees included Senator Catherine Callbeck - Business Entrepreneur, Politician, and Trial Blazer for the advancement of Canadian Women, Wayne Hambly - Entrepeneur and Community and Cultural Leader, and David Scales - Business Visionary and Community Benefactor.
We are proud to donate our services to this event each year. It's always a thrill to hear the stories from the winners recounting their challenges, achievements and advice to the future entrepreneurs of the Island.
PEI BURGER LOVE GETS A WHOLE LOTTA LOVE
We had a feeling that PEI Burger Love was hitting the spot for Islanders when we heard that there were Burger Love Crawls happening in the city. But, we had no idea that there would be this extreme an appetite for supporting local. This month-long campaign was more than just a celebration of Island Beef; it became a mission for Islanders to remember just how amazing our Island Beef really is! After weeks of people venturing out to find their one true PEI Burger Love, the votes are in and PEI's Most Loved Burger is... actually a tie! The numbers tallied up exactly the same for both the East West Burger from the Merchantman Pub and the Lord of Montague from Sir Isaac's. These completely different burgers hit just the right notes for PEI and were both dubbed PEI's Most Loved Burger at the recent wrap up. The best part... these burgers are staying on their menus for the summer!
If you missed out, there's always next year! www.peiburgerlove.ca www.peiburgerlove.ca

SPEAKING AT PEI FISHERMAN'S ASSOCIATION AGM
Thanks to the PEI Fisherman's Association (PEIFA) for asking Robbie to speak on "The Importance and Benefits of Branding" at their recent Annual General Meeting.
Speaking to the members of the PEIFA, Robbie talked about what makes a brand, how to build one, the status of our Island brands, plus how brands work directly along side with innovation.
While at the AGM, Robbie also had the chance to meet lobster fishermen and entrepreneurs who are working on some groundbreaking ideas and products right in our own background. When these ideas hopefully hit the market, they will be yet another piece in solidifying Prince Edward Island's place as the leading lobster exporter globally.AWARD WINNING CAMPAIGN
Fresh Media's creative work was recently recognized by winning the Tourism Industry Association of PEI (TIAPEI) "Walter Wheeler" award. This award to given to a company whose communications helped to support PEI tourism through unique, innovative, professional and creative marketing.
The award was presented to the PEI Potato Board, who along with its partners, came to Fresh Media with a unique challenge... to create a fully bilingual contest that would appear on over 4 million potato bags with the prize being a trip to PEI. The contest creative needed to both unite and excite the dozens of producers/packagers within the PEI Potato Board at a time when the market was volatile -- while also promoting PEI as a leading tourism destination.
The "Pack Your Appetite" campaign was carried across many mediums, with new potato packaging, plus animated videos, tradeshow promotional products, billboards, a bilingual website, contest form and database development, content development, photography, and automatic email thank-you's.
The campaign was a huge success with over 100,000 contest entries during the 4-month campaign, along with over 5,000 requests received for the PEI Visitor Guide.
Congrats to the PEI Potato Board and its producers, for the TIAPEI award!WORLD'S MOST INFLUENTIAL FEMALE DIRECTORS

Thanks to Downtown Charlottetown Inc for the recognition, and a congrats to the winner of the award -- The Old Triangle located on University Avenue here in Charlottetown.THE YEAR OF ORANGE!
This year Pantone has dubbed as the year of Orange for the latest 'it' colour. We couldn't be happier to see this world renowned colour code corporation taking a nod from us on 'Orange' being the latest hip shade to tout. We kind of thought it was a trending colour in 2003 when we launched FM. :)
